Church Support

The Church has been a great tool in meeting the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of refugees and the local community surrounding the refugee camp.

Our working with churches includes training, evangelism, community development, providing bibles in different languages, running children’s clubs and music competitions.

Projects

We cannot fulfill our ministry without the prayers, generosity and participation of people like you.

Refugee Scholarships

Most of the refugees living in Malawi have run from wars and ethic conflict that started in other parts of Africa between the 1970s and 1990s and have not had adequate education.

At Dzaleka Refugee camp there are one pre-school, one primary and one secondary school.

Around a dozen students per year get bursaries to go to University in Canada. This Scholarship program – although much appreciated – is insufficient for a camp that has a population in excess of 10,000 refugees, and it is limited to students aged between 17 and 24.

Our bursaries focus on allowing refugees to attain college or university education in Malawi or elsewhere.

Income Generation

Women are the backbone of African society – many are widows and some look after orphaned children who lost their family of origin while being displaced by conflict.

These women are brave and resilient, they are also resourceful, and need just a little support and guidance with setting up small businesses.

Our role is to identify the need, build a relationship, help set up a simple business plan, and help find the capital to start.
